Concrete Repair on Richmond Road to Cause Slowdowns this Summer

The proposed plan to repair concrete on Richmond Road beginning in mid-June and ending mid-September could inconvenience RNC traffic.

Beachwood City Engineer Joseph Ciuni shared plans for replacing concrete on Richmond Road at a recent Committee-of-the-Whole meeting. The plans would include the stretch of road from Shaker Boulevard to Concord Road, on the south side of the Chagrin Boulevard-Richmond Road intersection. Current plans have the work scheduled between mid-June and mid September according to Cleveland.com.

Beachwood Councilwoman Barbara Bellin-Janovitz pointed out that the proposed time-frame occurs during the same time as the upcoming Republican National Convention which runs from July 18-21.

Other work would not take place this year because notice to hold a public hearing is required combined with the time to research and hire contractors, it would be too late in the construction season, meaning that work other than the concrete replacement would not take place this year reports Cleveland.com.
