Race for the Place Nearly 98 Percent to Goal

Sunday's is just over 2 percent away from reaching their goal of raising $425,000 for cancer support center.

The annual walk/run will begin at 9 a.m. June 3 at the and is expected to draw 3,500 participants, but activities and a celebration will begin at 8 a.m.

The race, expected to net $325,000, will fund The Gathering Place's support groups, children’s programming, art therapy, nutrition and exercise classes, lectures, a lending medical library and more.

The event will take place on the upper level parking deck between Nordstrom and Dillard’s at the Beachwood Place Mall.
