Summer construction season is here. A major road construction project on Richmond Road from Fairmount Boulevard to Hendon Road begins today. The project will replace the pavement and widen Richmond Road from the  driveway to Fairmount. <a href="https://beachwood.patch.com/commute" rel="nofollow">LIVE TRAFFIC: Check out our Commute tab anytime to check traffic before you leave!</a> Drivers will have to operate in one lane in each direction on Richmond. Fairmount will be closed to through traffic at Richmond during the project, which the city expects to complete by Aug. 17. The city advises drivers to access Richmond Road by traveling west on Fairmount, south on South Green Road, east on South Shaker Boulevard to Richmond Road. Beachwood Patch has a map of all three projects slated for this summer that we have updated regularly throughout the process.
