Thursday, Jan. 12, 12:44 p.m. — A resident reported to police that she had trapped a squirrel in her home’s fireplace and that children were with her at her home. She was referred to the animal warden.

Woman falls asleep at wheel, continues driving

Friday, Jan. 13, 10:31 p.m. — Two drivers called to report a woman who was driving erratically in Beachwood. One said that she hit the side of the road on the exit ramp from Interstate 271 at Brainard Road and stopped her car. The witness stopped and asked the driver if she was ok, and the woman said that she was upset and continued driving.

A second driver called and reported following the same woman and saw her fall asleep at the wheel. He said he could smell alcohol on the driver, but when she woke up she continued driving. Police located the woman driving on Fairmount Boulevard in Pepper Pike and stopped her.

Car reported stolen from Park East

Monday, Jan. 16, 8:55 p.m. — A woman reported a car stolen from parking lot.

Juveniles, arrested for shoplifting, lie about ID for several hours

Thursday, Jan. 19, 10:45 p.m. — Two juveniles were arrested and charged with shoplifting from the Police report that the two lied about their identities for several hours before giving their true names. They were charged with theft, possessing criminal tools, obstructing official business and receiving stolen property.

Counterfeit bills passed at Eddie Bauer

Satuday, Jan. 21, 10:42 a.m. — at the reported that a man bought $120 of clothing with counterfeit $10 bills.

Shoplifter assaults store employee, two police officers

Saturday, Jan. 21, 9:09 p.m. — A woman was confronted by a store employee who said he saw her hiding merchandise on her person in a dressing room. Police report she assaulted the employee, fled from police, and assaulted two police officers.
