Visions for Vacancies: What Should Replace McCormick & Schmick's?

Visions for Vacancies is a new interactive feature - periodically, we'll list a vacant lot or commercial space and ask for your thoughts! Beachwood Patch account-holders can weigh in on what they'd like to see in these spaces. You can be creative and — pardon the pun — think outside of the box.

The McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant at the closed at the beginning of 2012, and still stands empty.

The closing abruptly followed the national restaurant chain's sale to Landry's Inc., The Plain Dealer reported in January.

The only peice of the seafood joint that remains is a lone fish mounted high on the outer wall, but its location in one of Northeast Ohio's busiest shopping venues and its large patio could offer a new restaurant a successful home. 

Beachwood Place Mall would not comment on whether a new business is considering the space.
