Do you have what it takes to be named Brecksville’s “Entertainer of the Year”?
Contestants will take the stage for the semifinals Friday and Saturday nights at Home Days, with finals on Sunday evening. Home Days begins next Friday, June 29.
Auditions for the competition will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. this Tuesday and Thursday. Interested participants must call the to get a time. Special Events Coordinator Kelly McNeill said they’re pretty full already, but if anyone calls, they’ll squeeze them in.
McNeill said performances must be no longer than 5 minutes. About 12 people total will likely make the semifinals, but it will depend on the length of the performances.
According to information from the city, the contest is open to people of all ages, and participants don’t have to be from Brecksville. A variety of talents are accepted, but bands are not allowed because of limited set-up time.
Dr. John Hudec and Hudec Dental Services are supporting the program. The first place winner will receive $500, second place will receive $300 and third place will receive $200.
