Police Find a Man Sleeping in a Parking Lot and Vandalism Reported at Chippewa: Brecksville Police Blotter

The following incidents were reported by the from June 6 to 16. The information was compiled from police reports.

Sleeping in a parking lot raises suspicion
Police spotted a car parked in a lot on Stadium Drive at 5:51 a.m. on June 16 and stopped to take a look. They found an 18-year-old Brecksville man sleeping inside. The man said he hadn’t been drinking, but had been at a friend’s house until late in the night and didn’t want to drive home. Police gave him a portable breath test anyway, and after seeing the results, the man told police he had drank one to two beers at his friend’s home. He was charged with underage consumption of alcohol.

Vandalism
A custodian called the police on June 15 to report vandalism at . Someone had used white spray paint on a trashcan and the grass near the soccer fields. The custodian said he did not see the spray paint there on June 6, and noticed it for the first time on June 13. There are no suspects at this time.

Soliciting without a permit
A 21-year-old Los Angeles man was charged for soliciting without a permit on Chippewa Road at 3:26 p.m. on June 6. The man said he was selling magazine subscriptions. Police found that the company had been warned in the past for soliciting without a permit. The man had a burglary warrant in California and charges for peddling and soliciting without a permit in other states. The warrant was out of the pick-up radius, so he was released with just the one charge.
