  1. On Monday, a one-year-old died at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center following a vehicle crash on Anthony Wayne Avenue in Carthage on Thursday. 27-year-old Nancy Johnson, who was also killed in the crash, was driving with the one-year-old in the backseat when she crossed the center line and hit an oncoming vehicle driven by 41-year-old Balkissa Abdramane. According to police, Abdramane was wearing a seatbelt and was listed in stable condition, while Johnson and the one-year-old were not wearing seatbelts. (FOX19)
  2. Today, Aug. 31, the northbound left lane of the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge will be closed for a routine bridge inspection. The lane will close at 8:30 a.m. and is expected to reopen at 12:30 p.m., according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. (WKRC TV Cincinnati)
  3. According to the city manager's office, a Cincinnati police officer was fired on Aug. 30 after using a racial slur outside of a Cincinnati Public School. According to bodycam and dashcam videos released last month as part of an internal CPD investigation, former CPD District Three Officer Rose Valentino used a racial slur on Apr. 5 following an incident with a teenager outside Western Hills University High School. Interim Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge recommended that Valentino be terminated, and interim City Manager John Curp’s office approved that recommendation on Monday. (FOX19)
