  1. A six-year-old got an amazing surprise for his first day of kindergarten from the Cincinnati Police Department. According to the department, Carter cashed in a certificate on Friday that was good for a ride to his first day of school in a police car, arriving in a CPD cruiser with Sgt. Hicks. Carter, who dreams of one day becoming a police officer, was smiling from ear to ear as he was dropped off by officers. (FOX19)
  2. Looking to add some spice to your life? Check out this list of some of the spiciest wings you can get during Cincinnati Wing Week. The second annual event is returning from Aug. 22-28, during which time, wing lovers can get six wings for just $7 at over 40 local restaurants. (Cincinnati CityBeat)
  3. Two Wendy’s employees were shot in Cincinnati on Thursday. The shooting took place at around 6:30 p.m. outside the restaurant in Walnut Hills. One of the victims was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition; the other victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. (WSAZ)
