Here are the top three stories in Cincinnati today:

  1. As the new school year begins, recruitment efforts continue to usher in more Cincinnati Public Schools crossing guards. Recently, the Cincinnati Board of Education and the City of Cincinnati bumped crossing guard pay to $15 in an effort to fill another 40 positions. Many Cincinnati parents call crossing guards "critical" to students' safety. "Having just increased the pay for crossing guards to attract more applicants, we recognize how critical this position is β€” protecting children’s lives every single day," said Mayor Aftab Pureval. (Spectrum News 1)
  2. Do you recognize this man? The Cincinnati Police are searching for a man who is believed to have raped a victim at gunpoint in Over-the-Rhine last weekend. The suspect is a male described as in his late 40s, 6 ft. tall, and around 200 lbs. Police say he has brown eyes, a black and gray beard, and a lazy right eye. Contact CPD Det. Hollyfield at 513-352-6943 if you have any information. (Fox19)
  3. Cincinnati has been ranked among the top NFL hometowns for quarterbacks. According to a study from BeenVerified on the Top States, Hometowns, and High Schools Producing the Most NFL Players, Cincinnati comes in at number six with eight quarterbacks. The city also comes in at number 15 on the list of the top NFL hometowns for running backs. (BeenVerified)
