  1. One week after nine people were hurt in a mass shooting on Main Street, safety changes have started in Over-the-Rhine. Barriers have been set up along some sidewalks, and no parking signs have been posted from Central Parkway to Liberty Street. Cincinnati Police Officers, including SWAT, will also make their presence known on weekends. Two men have been arrested in connection to the shooting in OTR, but police believe a third is still at large. (WKRC TV Cincinnati)
  2. Early Saturday (Aug. 13) morning, the Cincinnati Police Department, along with the Cincinnati Fire Department, responded to the 2600 block of Queen City Avenue for a reported stabbing. Officers discovered a deceased male victim on the scene with a stab wound to his torso. Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 513-352-3542. (WLWT Cincinnati)
  3. On Sunday, Aug. 14, a back-to-school event took place in Evanston to help 400 students receive free backpacks, school supplies, and uniforms. Around 50 volunteers helped with the event and also provided free haircuts and facials. The back-to-school event began in 2019 and, while the event is over, supplies can still be dropped off to be donated to schools in the area. (WCPO 9 Cincinnati)
