'A Christmas Story' House Is For Sale —​ See Inside

CLEVELAND, OH — Just in time for the holiday season, an iconic piece of Christmas history is for sale.

The house from “A Christmas Story,” located at 3159 W. 11th St. in Cleveland, is on the market.

Made famous in the classic 1983 film, which follows the misadventures of 9-year-old Ralphie and his friends and family one special Christmas season, the home is now the site of the “A Christmas Story” House & Museum.

The 1.3-acre commercial property includes the main house, the museum, a gift shop and The Bumpus House, home to the neighboring Bumpus family in the film. The attraction draws over 75,000 paying visitors per year, according to the real estate listing.

"There is no list price for this opportunity," said an email from the house and museum's operations team. "We are simply putting it (out) there and letting the market decide."

Built in 1895, the main house was bought on eBay in December 2004 and opened for tours nearly two years later, following a full renovation to return the home to its condition at the time of filming. The interiors of the main house reflect the decor and furniture of the movie, while the museum features costumes, props and other items from the film.

If a quick visit isn’t enough, “A Christmas Story” enthusiasts can also spend the night at the main home or The Bumpus House, which is used exclusively as an overnight rental space.

The sale is being handled by Hoff & Leigh.

This has been a big year for “A Christmas Story” fans. In addition to the house going up for sale, a follow-up film, “A Christmas Story Christmas,” begins streaming Thursday on HBO Max.
