Momentum Refresh debuts at 2023 Circleville Pumpkin Show

Momentum Refresh is the nation’s first fully accessible, universally designed mobile restroom equipped with a height-adjustable changing table, a ceiling hoist (sling not provided) and other amenities.

Momentum Refresh offers a safe, comfortable, and dignified personal care space for those with mobility challenges, as well as their caregivers, to use a restroom tailored and designed specific to their needs, reducing barriers that typically prevent them from attending long duration events while promoting inclusivity, equity and understanding.

“Creating inclusive and welcoming environments at venues like the Circleville Pumpkin Show is important,” says Lori Anderson, CEO of Momentum, which designed Momentum Refresh. “Rather than stay for one hour, they can now stay the entire day, and they and their families no longer have to worry about restroom access.” Currently, there are 8.4 million people in the U.S. who require assistance with personal care, and an ADA-compliant restroom is not always sufficient to meet their needs.

In addition to a toilet, this groundbreaking vehicle is equipped with a height-adjustable universal changing table, an overhead ceiling hoist (sling not provided) to facilitate easier transfer from wheelchair to changing table or toilet, a height-adjustable sink, enough room for an individual and caregiver, and a team of trained professionals available to inform guests about the amenities and help maintain and clean the space.

Free to use, the Momentum Refresh Mobile Changing Station will be stationed on South Pickaway Street, between E. Franklin and E. Mound Streets, across from the Circleville Pumpkin Show office at 215 South Pickaway Street. It will onsite at the Oct. 17 Preview Event from 5 to 10 p.m. and at the Main Show Oct. 18 through Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
