Rupaul’s Drag Race’s Tina Burner will bring her live singing comedy show, Maybe This Time Live, to District West this weekend with two shows, September 12th and 13th.

Maybe This Time Live is being billed as more than a traditional drag performance. With full orchestrations and arrangements, it is a theatrical production that uses classic Broadway standards and stand-up comedy to tell the story of the ups and many downs of Burner’s personal life, from when she realized she was gay to her life today. In addition to competing on Rupaul’s Drag Race, Tina Burner is known for her past romantic relationship with late night TV host, Graham Norton.

“The message of the show is to never forget where you come from, never lose sight of where you’re going, and never give up on your dreams....oh, and world peace,” Tina Burner explains. Show stopping numbers will include A Chorus Line’s “What I Did for Love,” La Cage Aux Faux’s “I Am What I Am” and Gypsy’s “Rose’s Turn” reimagined as “Tina’s Turn.”

Tina Burner was inspired to create Maybe This Time Live from her time on RuPaul’s Drag Race. “While on the show, I had the honor of playing the EmShee in the Rusical, a character based on the Emcee from Cabaret,” she recalls. “I placed in the bottom three for my performance but it was the first time where the viewers really rallied behind me. It reminded me how performing live is my passion and how I needed to get back to my roots because in the words of Sally Bowles, ‘Maybe this time, I’ll win.’”

She promises laughs and tears; and hopes that by sharing her story, the show offers audiences a chance to see much more of Tina Burner than what they saw on TV. “It will give a literal glimpse of the man behind the curtain."
