Action & Reaction: Revere Middle Students Pay it Forward

If you saw groups of kids wearing bright pink, blue and green shirts walking around Fairlawn, Montrose or Wadsworth Saturday, you saw goodness in action.

The Rachel's Challenge Group is made up of sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. They went into various stores and gas stations and offered to pay for random people's supplies, groceries and gas.

In its second year at Revere Middle School, the Rachel's Challenge group is inspired by Rachel Scott, the first victim in the 1999 Columbine school shooting. Her acts of kindness and compassion have become the foundation for one of the most life-changing school programs in the nation.

After the children paid for someone's load, they gave out a calling card asking that person to start their own chain reaction, and pay it forward with a random act of kindness for someone else.

To raise money for this program, the RMS club has been selling baked goods, hosting contests and tournaments and selling products.
