Vincent Paparella Named Eagle Scout

Vincent Paparella became the 50th Eagle Scout of Troop One, Akron, on May 25, 2011.  His Eagle project was to scrape and paint the old rectory at ,  which now serves as home for Archbishop Hoban Brothers. 

Vincent is a 2011 honors graduate of . During his years in Troop One, Vincent took part in National Junior Leadership Training, was voted into the Order of the Arrow, and participated in a rigorous mountain backpacking trip at Philmont Scout Ranch.  Vince has the highest SAT score of his graduating class, is a National Merit Commended Scholar, founded the Speech and Debate Team and served as team president, won numerous medals, including first and second places at invitational, regional and state Science Olympiad tournaments, and performed over 250 hours of volunteer service during his high school career. He performed tech for seven productions of the Revere Players, sang in the symphonic choir and was active in the Ecology Club. 

Vincent will attend Case Western Reserve University in the fall.  Vincent is the son of Susan and Tony Paparella of Bath Township.
