Business Brief: Donae Eckert is new United Way Vice President

Eckert joins United Way of Summit County as VP of Community Impact.

Donae Eckert has joined the United Way of Summit County as the agency's Vice President of Community Impact.

According to a news release, United Way’s Community Impact division supports the community through providing funds and promoting volunteerism.  Because of the recent economic downturn and slashed government funding, resources have grown scarce.  Eckert’s duties will include assigning resources to areas in the community that have the most need.

Eckert received her B.A. in Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace College and a Certificate in Human Resources Studies from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University.  She then spent nearly 20 years in the financial services industry, holding senior positions in financial and strategic planning, investor relations, mergers and human resources.  She comes to United Way from a position as Vice President of Community Investment for the Akron Community Foundation.
