Farilawn and Bath Residents are Older than State Median Age

Are we graying? Fairlawn and residents are older than the state median. According to figures released by the U.S. Census today Fairlawn's "middle" age rate is 46.8, eight years, a good bit older than the state median of 38.8. Bath Township comes in just above at 40.1.
In both Fairlawn and Bath women are older than men. The median age for Fairlawn women is 48.8 compared to 44.6 for men. In Bath, the median age for men is 39.2 versus 41.3 for women. Ohioans have 2.44 people per household. Bath Township comes in just above the average at 2.50. Fairlawn -- with it's older resident median age -- has smaller houses than average at 2.20.
The mixture of household types in Fairlawn might come as a surprise. The city's percentage of owner-occupied households is 1.5 percent below the state average of 67.6.
