More than 450 pre-registered runners – including four generations of women, ages 10 to 81, from one family – will run, jog or walk to celebrate Mom this Sunday (5/13) during the inaugural Mother’s Day 5K, starting at 8 a.m. at the Lake Area in Munroe Falls Metro Park, 521 S. River Rd., Munroe Falls.
The rain-or-shine event, a fundraiser and “friendraiser” for the Metro Parks Foundation, follows a stroller-friendly course that travels twice around the scenic lake. Timing is provided by North Coast MultiSports and awards will be given to the top finishers in several categories.
Advance registration was $20/person. Day-of registration is $30/person. Runners 14 and under are free.
After the race, moms can receive a free massage on site compliments of Tubbs Chiropractic in Cuyahoga Falls.
The Metro Parks Foundation is a nonprofit organization that furthers the goals and mission of Metro Parks, Serving Summit County. The Foundation accepts gifts and grants to support the park district’s educational, recreational and scientific initiatives.
