Fairlawn Community Improvement Corp Pairs with Firm to Sell Land
The empty land sits on Cleveland-Massillon Road.

Now that the economy seems to be on the upswing, Fairlawn's Community Improvement Corporation is looking to pair with a realty firm to see who's interested in buying some of the leftover acreage on Cleveland-Massillon Road.
Mayor William Roth said the CIC settled on potentially signing on with Jones, Lang, LeSalle, one of the world's biggest realty firms. If an agreement is reached, the firm will market the land on its own dime, Roth said. There are 56 acres left for developers to buy.
"We don't have to sell the land," Roth said. "We're testing the waters of the market."

The city is flexible on the cost of the land, and Roth said the city is at liberty to cherry pick a buyer. Because the firm markets the land, it will get a percentage of the sale, Roth added.
"It's a known piece of land," Roth said, "and we want to know who may want it."
