Fairlawn Police Blotter: Too Many Margaritas and More

DUI and Reasonable Control
Fairlawn police responded to a report of a woman passed out in her car at 1:24 a.m. Tuesday (Sept. 27) at the intersection of West Market and Miller.
Police said the woman was inside a 1998 Buick Park Avenue when they approached. She had her eyes closes, the windows rolled up, the car was in drive and her foot on the brake.

According to the report, after numerous orders to unlock the door, the woman took her foot off the brake and attempted to unlock the door. The car then rolled forward and struck a light pole on the northwest corner of West Market and Miller. Officers freed her from the still locked car with a slim jim.
Franzetta Greene, 57, of Fairlawn was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to maintain reasonable control of her car. Greene told police she drank margaritas earlier in the evening. When asked how much she drank, Greene said, “Way too much.” She was treated for a cut above her right eye at Akron General Medical Center.

Theft
Police are investigating the theft of a designer handbag from Fairlawn Country club. A guest told police she left her Prada purse on a chair in the dining area at about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 27) When she returned a half-hour later the purse was gone. The missing handbag, credit cards, $10 cash and Dillard’s gift card, cell phone and digital camera were valued at $1,180. The purse was recovered from a laundry basket at the country club early the next day. The contents were missing.
