Man Flees into Woods During Domestic Dispute: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Bath Township Police Department

Police were called to a Bath Road home early July 21 after a couple got into a heated argument, a report said.

But instead of facing police, the man fled into a nearby wooded area, refusing to take calls from officers.

However, he did send texts to his son, asking for help in throwing police off his trail, a report said.

Officers left, and the man returned home about 3:30 a.m. Police went back to the house and cited the man — not for the domestic situation, which involved no violence, but for obstructing official business for his flight into the woods.

He was taken to a local hotel to spend the rest of the night.

Car Trouble Becomes Bigger Trouble

An overheated car led to the arrest of a driver July 20.

Police stopped to assist a disabled vehicle at Ghent and I-77 about 9:30 p.m. and discovered the driver, who had pulled over because the engine was overheating, was driving with a suspended license.

He was cited.

The car was released to a family member to be driven home because, the report noted, it contained perishable items from a picnic.
