Man Tries to Sell Girlfriend's Food Stamps: Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Fairlawn Police Department

Police were called to Giant Eagle July 10 about a man who was reportedly approaching customers, asking if they wanted to buy groceries using his Ohio Direction Card -- the state's electronic food stamps.

The card actually belonged to his girlfriend, but that's not why he was cited.

Police said the man, 32, had already been banned from all Giant Eagle stores indefinitely.

He was charged with criminal trespass, a first-degree misdemeanor.

His troubles didn't end there. As the man left the parking lot, another officer noticed his license plates were expired.

He also got a ticket for that.
