Fairlawn Officially Brands Market Street as The 18 Corridor

City of Fairlawn Officially Brands Market Street as The 18 Corridor. The City of Fairlawn has branded their section of State Route 18, a 2.1 mile stretch along Market Street, officially as The 18 Corridor. With this branding effort, their goal is to attract more visitors and business to the city, and encourage them to take advantage of the many shops, businesses, restaurants and lodging. The campaign is also aiming to encourage tourists to stay in Fairlawn lodging when taking in the many sites in the Greater Cleveland and Greater Akron areas. The city will also use the effort to attract new businesses to locate or relocate to Fairlawn, while also encouraging redevelopment and updating of existing properties. There will be several programs put into motion in the next months and years to help achieve this goal. Planned marketing executions will include the development of traditional and online digital billboards, a social media campaign, several community related events, video development and public relations. Local businesses will also have multiple opportunities to partner with the city throughout the campaign. The City of Fairlawn launched a new website in conjunction with the branding effort, designed to promote local businesses and the programs they will be implementing. The new website can be accessed at www.The18Corridor.com. Businesses in the area will also be able to promote their business on the new website and The 18 Corridor social media platforms. The branding and subsequent marketing campaign was developed and is being managed by The Eisen Agency, a nationally award winning branding, marketing and media agency that works with destination points, municipalities and businesses.

at the intersection of West Market and Trunk Road as tabled at a Planning Commission meeting in January, but committee members will discuss it again tonight. The site plan, created by TMS Engineers, of Stow, and Giant Eagle officials, includes a right entry off West Market, and a right exit back on to Market. Left turns are not permitted in or out onto Market. However, drivers can use Trunko to make a left turn. Planning committee members had safety concerns about drivers turning right onto Market in such a high traffic zone. Giant Eagle officials will present new plans tonight. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. in The agenda is attached to the media portion of this story.
