City of Fairlawn Officially Brands Market Street as The 18 Corridor. The City of Fairlawn has branded their section of State Route 18, a 2.1 mile stretch along Market Street, officially as The 18 Corridor. With this branding effort, their goal is to attract more visitors and business to the city, and encourage them to take advantage of the many shops, businesses, restaurants and lodging. The campaign is also aiming to encourage tourists to stay in Fairlawn lodging when taking in the many sites in the Greater Cleveland and Greater Akron areas. The city will also use the effort to attract new businesses to locate or relocate to Fairlawn, while also encouraging redevelopment and updating of existing properties. There will be several programs put into motion in the next months and years to help achieve this goal. Planned marketing executions will include the development of traditional and online digital billboards, a social media campaign, several community related events, video development and public relations. Local businesses will also have multiple opportunities to partner with the city throughout the campaign. The City of Fairlawn launched a new website in conjunction with the branding effort, designed to promote local businesses and the programs they will be implementing. The new website can be accessed at www.The18Corridor.com. Businesses in the area will also be able to promote their business on the new website and The 18 Corridor social media platforms. The branding and subsequent marketing campaign was developed and is being managed by The Eisen Agency, a nationally award winning branding, marketing and media agency that works with destination points, municipalities and businesses.

The <a href="http://www.summithumane.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Humane Society</a> of Greater Akron is offering these pets for adoption. Amelia Amelia is around 5 years old and as pretty as they come She has gorgeous markings and a personality to match (or should we say a "cat"ality). She spent some time in a foster home and the foster family said that she was a very loving and sweet kitty that enjoyed spending some of the time on their lap. She would welcome visitors and was a social butterfly. Here at the shelter she is nervous of the other kitties, but while in her foster home she did well with the other four-legged friends, so the potential is there. If you think Amelia sounds like she may be a purrfect for your family, stop down to HSGA and meet her today. Scout Scout is 8 year old Shepherd/Lab mix that weighs about 35 pounds. He is a sweet and laid back boy that gets along well with most dogs. We hope that Scout gets adopted into a family soon! Adoption Fees: Dogs and Puppies: $99 Senior dog over 6 years old: $40 Senior to Senior Program - Senior person over 60 adopts a senior dog: $15 Kittens: $75 Cats - over 6 months: $50 Rabbits: $40 Adopters age 60 or older may adopt a dog, 3 years or older or a cat, 5 years or older without paying the adoption fee. Proof of age is required. All animals are spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter and have received a microchip and received age-appropriate vaccinations and flea treatment.
