Pets of the Week: Lavender and Timber

One of these homeless animals could be the next new member of your family.

The Humane Society of Greater Akron  is offering these animals for adoption.

Lavender

Lavender is a 7-8-year-old Rottweiler that weighs about 70 pounds. She is a gentle and loving girl. She came to us as part of cruelty case and is a special needs lady. She is blind but we do think that she can see shadows by how good she is able to get around. She seems comfortable around other dogs, but likes when they are as laid back as she is. If you think lovely Lavender may be able to become part of your family stop down and meet this beauty today!

Timber

You will fall for Timber like a tree for a lumberjack. A beautiful black cat with green-gold eyes, Timber seemed awful restless the other day so we took him to our free roam area. Good call! Timber proceeded to play with every toy in there, explore every nook, cranny & hidey hole, and then he really took off - literally! When we brought out the wand toy with a dangler on the end, Timber went after it - no matter how high it went. In fact, the higher the better, as he started leaping, flipping, and twisting in midair. If the floor hadn't been so slippery (making for rather ungainly and embarrassing landings), we're pretty sure he would have hit four feet in "catitude." He was GREAT with the other two cats we brought in to work off some of his steam, so we're confident he'd be good with other well-behaved kitties. We invite you to visit with Timber in free roam - you've likely never seen a cat do what he can do!
