Photos of the Day: Arts in Hardesty Park

Artists, crafters, painters, photographers and dancers set up for annual festival that includes 169 exhibitors, including a Fairlawn-Bath Patch blogger.

The 32nd annual free arts festival in Hardesty Park runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow (July 23 and 24).

To make that happen a group of hardy artists and volunteers suffered through record-setting heat early Friday morning (and cloudbursts in the late afternoon) to get things ready for approximately 169 exhibitors.

Artist coordinator Penny Bomba said the mercurial weather was responsible for only a handful of cancellations. "Mostly artists who have heat-related health conditions. And we've added a few artists too, because of those vacancies."
