Revere High School seniors will head to prom on May 12.

It's prom season once again. It's time for high school seniors to put on their dancing shoes, fancy dresses and suits and hit the town.
prom is on May 12 at the Akron Art Museum. Here are five things you need to know about the momentous occasion.
1. Prom starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 11:30 p.m. Today is the last day to purchase tickets. Presale ended April 26, so tickets now cost $88. That includes the cost of dinner.

Senior class adviser Cindy Gobrogge said tickets are more expensive this year because of the venue. The Akron Art Museum isn't set up to cater large events, like prom, so everything has to be bought and taken in, including plates, silverware, decorations, etc.
2. The theme is Apocalypse. The colors are electric blue and coral.

"The senior class officers who came up with it are tying it in with their graduation year, 2012, and how it’s the end of the world," Gobrogge said. "The Akron Art Museum's modern feel fits in with their theme."
3. The dance will be held in the lobby area of the museum, Gobrogge said. One side is for tables and chairs, the other side is for dancing. The dinner will be catered by Robert J. Events & Catering.
4. Promenade will be held in the Revere High School gym from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on May 12. This is where the prom court will be announced.
5. Attention, seniors: There are several guidelines the district asks that you follow to ensure your prom is the best night ever. Here are a few, the rest can be found in the media portion of this article:
- You and your guest are not to use profane language, drugs, alcoholic beverages or tobacco.
