Surprise: Mom Knows Car 'Thief:' Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the Fairlawn Police Department

A Sunridge Road woman called police about 12:15 a.m. Aug. 6 after looking out the window and seeing a group of kids pushing her husband's minivan out of the driveway.

The van was last seen being driven down the street.

But a band of thieves hadn't actually targeted the vehicle, it turns out. The woman discovered her son was among the culprits.

When she called him, he said he and his friends had decided to go out for milkshakes.

Because they were 16, he was cited for driving with a probationary license without an adult driver in the car.

He and his two buddies were also cited for curfew violations and released to their parents.
