Take a Peek at What Your Neighbors are Doing

Stories from other patch sites this week that you might have missed.

At Fairlawn-Bath Patch, we try to bring you the most up-to-date and interesting news from our area every day. But there are fascinating things happening all over the region, and we want to make it easy for you to check out those stories.

Check out the links below to see what's happening beyond your own back yard, in Patches in Cuyahoga Falls, Stow, Kent, North Canton, and, of course, right here at home.

Cuyahoga Falls -- You’ve heard about herding cats? Well, Waterworks Park in the falls has it's own herd -- a furry colony in fact. City officials are asking residents not to feed the cute critters. Good luck with that.

Stow --  High School graduation is a time when teenagers take their first step into adulthood -- and that usually comes with some at least minor displays of individuality at commencement time. However, the father of a Stow-Munroe-Falls High School student said graduation was ruined for his daughter because school officials forbid her to wear a symbol of her American Indian heritage.

-- As any mother knows, 2 year olds can be tireless. In North Canton a woman now faces charges that she allegedly chose an inappropriate and potentially dangerous way to get her child to go to sleep.

-- Looking for a parking spot in downtown Kent. City officials have added free all-day parking in certain areas to ease the burden while residents await the opening of the Kent Central Gateway transit center and its more than 300 parking spaces.

Here in Fairlawn-Bath -- Copley Township and Bath firefighters answered an alarm at the Golden Corral restaurant where a deep fryer ignited. Investigators from Summit Public health determined the cause and assessed the health risk.
