Weekend Planner: Family Wellness Expo at Shaw JCC of Akron

The Shaw JCC of Akron will host a Family Wellness Expo on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Shaw Center.

This is an interactive event for the whole family featuring Walkaround Grover from Sesame Street and guest speaker Miriam Weinstein, author of The Surprising Power of Family Meals.

The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available at Shaw and there will be shuttles from off-site parking at the following locations:

• Home Builder's Association - 799 White Pond Drive
• Summa Facility at Park West - 1 Park West Blvd.
• Neuro Science Center - 701 White Pond Drive.

The following activities are scheduled throughout the day:

Noon to 4 p.m.: Meet and Greet with Grover from Sesame Street

Noon to 4 p.m.: Meet and Greet with Buck and Buffy from

Noon to 4 p.m.: Face Painting

Noon to 12:15 p.m.: Story Time with

12:30 to 1 p.m.: Guest Speaker Miriam Weinstein, Author of The Surprising Power of Family Meals

1 to 2:30 p.m.: Meet and Greet with Orbit from the Akron Aeros

1:15 to 1:45 p.m.: Music Together with David Palomo

2 to 2:30 p.m.: Planning for College Presentation with Key Bank

2:45 to 3:15 p.m.: Sesame Street Screening 'Growing Hope Against Hunger'

3:30 to 4 p.m.: Story Time with Akron-Summit County Public Libraries
