Two large garbage bins were lit on fire recently at a Kent apartment complex.

Waste Management, the owners of the bins, reported they were destroyed by fire July 7.

Jewelry theft

More than $1,300 in jewelry was reported stolen recently from an address in the 400 block of E. School St.

A resident reported several rings and bracelets were stolen on July 6, including several 14 karat gold and diamond rings.

Cash register hit

Part of a day's sales was reported stolen from a downtown Kent business.

Employees at Car Parts Warehouse reported more than $700 in a blue bank deposit bag was stolen from the business on West College Avenue on July 7.
