Cajun Dave's Smoker Renewed for Another Year

A barbecue smoker that's in the past got the OK from city officials to keep on smokin' for another year without a word.

voted to renew an agreement with downtown restaurant that let's the eatery use a barbecue smoker on Fridays outside the business. The agreement lets the business operate the smoker in a parking space on South Water Street.

Council members extended the agreement for another year this week with no comment. The original agreement required that council review the request and vote on it at least once a year.

Wednesday's vote finalized an approval council gave during a committee meeting in February.
