Clyde Says Ohio not Meeting Federal Voter Registration Requirements

State Rep. Kathleen Clyde of Kent is keeping her eye on the most basic, and crucial, element of a free Democracy — the voting process.

In an article published today, PolitiFact Ohio confirmed a statement Clyde made about Ohio not adhering to a federal voter law involving voter registration and address updates logged at the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Clyde said the state "is not meeting its obligation to update voter registrations when voters change their address with the BMV."

PolitiFact Ohio followed through with the BMV and by fact-checking Clyde's sources to find out that Ohio is not doing a very good job of getting voter registration updates during BMV transactions. Read the entire PolitiFact Ohio report here.

It's not the first time the freshman state representative has spoken out on the state's election process.

Last summer, about her opposition to some elements of the voter reform bill passed in the legislature.

Earlier this month, of Ohio's early voting period, which was changed in the last year's voter reform bill.
