'Dog Squad' Opening Soon at Acorn Alley
Gourmet hot dog restaurant to open in former sushi eatery space
The owners of , which will open in the former Dancing Beta sushi space at , issued this press release about the store's coming opening:
owners Danielle Urban and fellow Portage county native Michael Tribuzzo are putting the finishing touches on their gourmet hot dog shop, The Dog Squad, at Acorn Alley.
Urban and Tribuzzo have designed a tasty menu and custom décor for a complete dining adventure.
“We are excited to see it all come together,” Urban said. “People are stopping us in the streets daily and asking questions full of anticipation.”
The Dog Squad’s menu resulted from months of research. Urban and Tribuzzo reviewed menus and tasted creations from hot dog eateries in Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Columbus. The Dog Squad is the product of the best ingredients and flavors discovered in the process. The Dog Squad will offer an affordable gourmet hot dog, a generous topping selection and much more for the Acorn Alley “foodie.”

Urban and Tribuzzo are excited to bring the unique treat to Kent.
“The gourmet hot dog is a growing trend in large cities,” Tribuzzo said. “We need to bring that quality and innovation to Kent.”
The Dog Squad is located next door to the Arctic Squirrel in Acorn Alley. Urban and Tribuzzo transformed the space for a complete customer experience. The interior décor will feature a three wall custom mural painted by local artists Justin Roberts and Jon Gibby. The Dog Squad customers will feel like they are in a different zip code during their visit.
“We really enjoyed working with two such creative minds,” Urban said. “Their unique styles joined to form something wonderfully unexpected.”
Urban and Tribuzzo are anticipating The Dog Squad’s grand opening soon. They are anxious to share their enthusiasm for gourmet hot dogs with the Kent community. Stay tuned for more information coming in the next week.
