Staff wants community to explore expanded options thanks to levy passage

For the first time, the will celebrate National Library Week starting Monday.

Kristen Pool, the assistant director at the Kent library, said they decided to celebrate the week for the first time ever this year because the library is trying some new programs and wanted to spread the word about them.

"We are trying to offer a sampling of our programs so people can see what they can actually do here at the library," Pool said. "If people haven’t been here , there are some new things we can do."

Pool said the week-long series of events is all about giving back to the patrons who helped pass the levy and to showcase new offerings at the library.

"The theme is, 'You Belong at Your Library,' and we just really wanted to give people an idea of the range of things that are available to do at the library," she said. "It’s just our way of saying thank you to the community for the support that they’ve given us."
