South Water to Close in Front of CVS Starting Thursday

The two southbound lanes of South Water Street will close starting this morning for underground utility work associated with .

The southbound lanes will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Traffic will be maintained using the turning lane.

Last week, workers finished south of the existing store to make way for the new building, which will include a drive-thru pharmacy.

The city announced the lane closure on the same day it announced the closing of South DePeyster Street from Erie Street to Haymaker Parkway for construction of the Kent State University Hotel and Conference Center.

The closure of South DePeyster Street will not start until Monday. The road will remain open from Erie to Main streets.
