Update: Kent Woman Shoots Self on Vine Street

Several shots fired at house before woman shoots self in head

A Kent woman who shot herself in the head after firing several rounds at a house on Vine Street Sunday was pronounced dead this morning, the Record-Courier reported.

Leticia K. Nakibuka, 22, of Lake Street, fired several rounds from a .45 caliber handgun at the house at 1017 Vine St. at 3:46 p.m. Sunday before turning the gun on herself, according to Kent police.

Nakibuka was pronounced dead this morning at Akron City Hospital, the R-C reported.

Capt. Paul Canfield said police aren't sure what or who her intended target was in the house.

"She had a relationship with somebody that lived there," Canfield said.

The house is listed as a licensed boarding house with the .

Nakibuka was a student at Kent State University.
