Another HAWK Crossing Signal Being Installed on Madison at Clarence

The City of Lakewood is installing another HAWK crossing signal on Madison Avenue at Clarence. The high-tech crossing signal is the same as the one installed on Detroit at Manor Park.

"Unlike a traditional traffic light, the new HAWK signal only lights up when someone presses the button to activate it," explained Joe Beno, Lakewood Director of Public Works.

This new crosswalk will increase pedestrian safety and is a welcome addition to the area near Madison Park and the library. More information and an instructional video can be found on the City of Lakewood's website.
