Another 'Sweet' Reason to Eat Ice Cream in Lakewood
The Sweet Spot gelateria on Detroit Avenue unveils its new Caramel Crunch flavor, which will help benefit the Lakewood Animal Shelter.

Need a reason to get some fantastic ice cream?
One gelateria on Detroit Avenue just sweetened the pot.
recently unveiled its newest flavor, Caramel Crunch, but a portion of the proceeds will go toward helping the Lakewood Animal Shelter.

The flavor is made in-house with Ohio cream, organic unrefined sugar, Annie’s Pretzel Bunnies and chocolate chips.
Sweet Spot co-owner Celeste Blau said that she wanted to help out, while bringing some awareness to the shelter — which could always use a little help.

“Not a lot of people know that we have an animal shelter in Lakewood,” she said. “It’s awesome that we have this animal shelter here.”
“Animals are my pet cause,” she said.
As much as $20 per tub of the caramel deliciousness will go toward helping out at the shelter, Blau said.
Dawn Pyne, the president of the Citizens Committee for the Lakewood Animal Shelter, said the organization is “thrilled” with the new, sweet partnership.
"There are still so many people in our community that are unaware that Lakewood has a shelter full of healthy cats and dogs waiting to be adopted,” she said. “We're hoping this delicious flavor will increase awareness and adoptions at our city shelter."
