An article we published this week about a robbery near Emerson Elementary said the incident took place on school grounds.
It did not.

 According to Capt. Ed Hassing of the Lakewood Police Department, the armed robbery took place nearly three blocks south on Merl Avenue. Also, there was only one victim in the incident — not two.

At Lakewood Patch, we think transparency is of the utmost importance, so when we get it wrong, we want to make it right.
So, I put a note in the body of the article, either at the top or at the bottom —depending on the importance of the error. Then, for more significant errors, I publish a separate article about the correction in an effort to attract the attention of as many of the original readers as possible.
