Here are the top three stories in Lakewood today:

  1. A "very fidgety man" was reportedly seen robbing a local bank, and Lakewood police are looking for leads. On Aug. 22, the unknown man held up a note to the teller’s window at the PNC Bank at Detroit and Robinwood Avenue. The robber allegedly took the note with him as well as the money, then fled on foot with a large black bag. It is unclear if he was armed at the time of the robbery. (cleveland.com)
  2. Top marks in the Cleveland Oktoberfest microbrew contest has gone to The Brew Kettle. This popular locale earned four awards, including the coveted Best in Show for its Bushwood India Pale Ale. Other big winners included Immigrant Son Brewery of Lakewood and Mastwood Brewing Co., with both breweries receiving four awards as well. (cleveland.com)
  3. Lakewood’s housing market is on the rise, with multiple new homes now available throughout the area. Homes start at just $98,000 and offer all sorts of different styles and designs. This is a popular area, so check out these homes before they’re gone. (Lakewood Patch)
