LAKEWOOD, OH β€” The Beck Center for the Arts completed its second phase of renovation after raising $5.3 million from the community.

β€œSo many thoughtful and generous people have come together to make these renovations possible, which provide greater ADA accessibility, energy efficiency, and functionality,” said Beck Center President and CEO Lucinda Einhouse.

Public fundraising for phase two renovations started March 10, 2020. A campaign event called "Raise the Roof" was held in recently renovated parts of the Beck campus and the festivities were attended by Lakewood Mayor Meghan George, Cuyahoga County Councilperson Dale Miller, and state Sen. Nickie Antonio, among others. When it was time to celebrate the completion of phase two, the Beck held its event in the newly renovated Music & Creative Arts Therapies Building on March 10, 2022 β€” exactly two years after the campaign started.

Along with myself, Development Director Megan DeFranco, Board Chair Patricia Oliver, and Campaign Co-Chairs Douglas Hoffman, Sandra Sauder, and Ellen Todia look forward to talking to anyone interested in making a philanthropic investment in the Northeast Ohio arts community," Einhouse said.

The renovations and updates were designed and constructed by Bialosky Cleveland and Turner Construction. Bialosky Cleveland's previous designs include the Edgewater Beach House and American Greetings Headquarters, while Turner Construction has worked on Playhouse Square and parts of Case Western Reserve University.
