Blotter: Woman Bit in the Face by Dog; 'Hoarder' Gets Hostile

‘Hoarder’ taken to the hospital

A 45-year-old man in the 2100 block of Halstead Avenue was taken to MetroHospital after he went off his medication and began breaking things in his apartment at around 10 a.m. Aug. 25. Officials from the building department and the fire department also responded to condemn the home. Turns out, the man is a “hoarder.”

Gun pulled after traffic altercation

A man in the 2100 block of Brown Road told police that he pulled his gun on a man who became angry and followed him home following a traffic altercation at around 3:30 p.m. Aug. 26. The man has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

Dog bite

A Rottweiler bit a woman in the face in the 2000 block of Carabel Avenue at around 5 p.m. Aug. 25. The dog’s owner was cited. The condition of the victim was not reported.

Drug abuse

A woman was charged with drug abuse following a traffic stop in the 15000 Madison Avenue at around 8 p.m. Aug. 24.

Burglary

A resident in the 1000 block of Homewood Avenue told that a man broke into the home through a window, and fled on a bicycle at around 12:30 a.m. Aug. 25. Police were unable to find him.

Timber!

A tree fell onto the yard of a woman in the 2000 block of Robin Avenue during the thunderstorm Aug. 24. The woman told police the following morning that the tree belonged to her neighbor and she would like to seek damages. They were told it was a civil matter.

Shoplifting

Two women were charged with shoplifting from the on Madison Avenue at around noon Aug. 26.
