Property Once Eyed for a New Taco Bell is Now a Pile of Rubble

The 100-year-old structure at 16900 Detroit Avenue had all sorts of structural issues, including bowing walls that can be seen from the street, crumbling walls, bricks and windowsills.

The building recently considered for a new  restaurant on the corner of Edward and Detroit Avenue was demolished this week.

The last of the building came down on Wednesday.

All that was left by the afternoon was pile of rubble.

The 100-year-old structure at 16900 Detroit Avenue had all sorts of structural issues, including bowing walls that could be seen from the street, crumbling walls, bricks and windowsills.

The building’s owner, Chris Lamb, recently told Lakewood Patch that no development plans are in the works.

Lamb would neither confirm nor deny that he was working with Taco Bell officials to build a restaurant on the property.

Following  to the , city council passed an ordinance that  in city limits.
