Here are the top three stories in Lakewood today:
- The Cuyahoga County Council has approved nearly $12 million in ARPA spending on 19 different projects across the county. The funding for these projects, which was unanimously approved at Tuesday's council meeting, comes from the COVID-19 stimulus. Projects will include a women's treatment center for addiction, an animal shelter/recycling center for Lakewood, a shooting range for police officers, and a lakefront park. (cleveland.com)
- Fans of classical music are in for a treat this weekend, as there are numerous great events going on throughout the Cleveland area. Lovers of classical music in Lakewood can head to the St. James Catholic Church to enjoy the Cleveland Consort of Voices, hosted by the Sounds of St. James. And if you head into Cleveland, there is everything from symphonies to operas to pick from. (Cleveland Scene)
- Your pooch is in for a bunch of scary fun this fall! Lakewood will be hosting a Spook Pooch Parade at Madison Park on Oct. 15. It's a great chance to show off your creative skills and your beloved canine companion, so if you're interested, you can sign your dog(s) up here. (LakewoodAlive via Facebook)
