Dirty Town Opens on Madison Avenue

The guitar and amplifier service, repair and sales shop styles itself as a "boutique amplifier and pedal" business.

There’s a new music store in town.

But this one won’t just sell you a guitar: It will repair your vintage guitar, and custom-build pedals and amplifiers, too.

Dirty Town Guitars and Amps — a guitar and amplifier service, repair and sales shop — recently opened its doors at 15230 Madison Avenue.

Dennis Bielinski, who co-owns the shop, owned a music store in Sandusky but closed the business and moved to Lakewood.

Bielinski shares his new venture with three partners — Alan Ross, his son, Matt Ross, and Chris Churavy — who all come from different backgrounds in the music business.

“We all bring different passions,” he said. “It’s a perfect marriage. Our slogan is ‘musicians working for musicians.’”

Bielinski said he's happy with the store's location — right in the heart of the Madison Avenue shopping district.

“It seems like the storefronts are filling up,” he said. “And they’re not just trinket stores."

“There’s been a resurgence of mom-and-pop businesses,” Bielinski said.

Dirty Town Guitars and Amps is open at 11:30 a.m. Monday though Saturday; and is open on Sunday by appointment only.

“I think I’m going to be here 20 years from now,” he added.
