Dunkin' Donuts Unveils Plans for New Location

Project — on W. 117th Street — gets the final approval from the city's architectural board of review.

It looks like a second location is coming to Lakewood.

The plans to build the doughnut shop on W. 117thStreet got final approval from city’s architectural board of review meeting on Thursday.

The property sits just north of the  gas station, where two homes were recently demolished. While a purchase agreement is in the works, the property is owned by Berea-based Self Service Mini Storage.

shows a 2,200-square-foot brick building — with a 25-foot front yard setback — that would feature a dine-in area as well as a drive-thru, according to the plans submitted to the ABR.

The drive-thru would consist of one lane toward the back of the property with the ability to “stack” 10 cars; the plans also show a bypass lane around the entire site perimeter to allow traffic flow. 

Plans also show 15 parking spaces on the property — six of which would be for employees. 

Construction is expected to begin this spring.

“The Dunkin’ Donuts we have on Detroit Avenue is very successful,” said Bruce Sekanick, the architect representing the national doughnut chain, last month. "It’s one of the nicest Dunkin’ Donuts that we have in the corporate portfolio. The one we’re proposing in 117ht is a little but different. It’s geared toward a standard drive-thru around the building.”
