Here are the top three stories in Lakewood today:
- A teenager has been sentenced to a minimum of 14 years in prison and has been ordered to be labeled a Tier 3 sex offender. On Tuesday, Lavelle Spencer, who is now 18, was sentenced in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Court for multiple violent crimes he committed from November 2019 through December 2019. Last month, Spencer pleaded guilty in front of Judge Michael Shaughnessy to six counts of aggravated robbery, one count of rape, one count of escape, and one count of having weapons while under disability. - On Tuesday, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank announced they will be teaming up with multiple Cuyahoga County Library locations to host mobile pantries. Food will be distributed on a first-come-first-serve basis. Click the link to see all the dates and locations for the pantries. (News 5 Cleveland)
- A Cuyahoga County business owner has been accused of taking clients' money. Allegations have been made against Jessica Galayda, the owner of the local estate sale business Cleveland Estate Liquidators. Galayda has had multiple civil cases brought against her and is facing a felony theft charge — a hearing was held on Tuesday, Sep. 20, in Rocky River Municipal Court on the felony charge.
