Here are the top three stories today in Lakewood:

  1. Harding Middle School received the Stop the Hate School of the Year Award presented by the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage. The award aims to celebrate students committed to creating more accepting and inclusive societies within their schools. Principal Joe Niemantsverdriet said "...we need to help our students understand how to appreciate different cultures, different strengths that we all as individual people bring to our school and bring to Lakewood.” (cleveland.com)
  2. A small business in Lakewood is responsible for keeping hands clean and smelling fresh in Northeast Ohio and beyond. STEM Handmade Soap is celebrating its ninth year next month after partners Dave Willett and Steve Meka started the business in their Lakewood basement. Currently, the small business produces 50,000 bars of soap each year. (cleveland.com)
  3. The League of Women Voters of Greater Cleveland Lakewood Chapter presented the Mary Warren Impact Scholarship to six Class of 2022 graduates at Lakewood High School.
